Mivart Street Studios occupy a former Victorian factory squeezed into a residential street just off the famous mutli-cultural hub of St. Mark’s Road in Easton. The large, red brick building has housed various industries over the last hundred years including aircraft construction and clothing manufacture.
Today it is home to an eclectic mix of artists, performers, designers, furniture makers, recording studios, rehersal spaces and other small businesses. With over 50 artists’ studios, Mivart Street Studios is one of Bristol’s largest providers of affordable studio space. A loose collective of artists and makers resident in the building have got together to set-up Mivart Artists where you can find out more about what is currently going on in the building, including details of the biannual Open Studio event, workshops and details about some of the residents too.
There is currently a waiting list for studio space, but artists do move around the building and often on to greener pastures, so it is well worth emailing Mike Orme for more information and to get on the waiting list.
