Welcome to the May 2021 edition of the Bristol Creatives' Ebulletin.  We've got lots of great opportunites and exciting jobs, along with both online and some real life activities listed in our What's On section.  As well as the latest funding, support and exhibition opportunities in our News pages - hopefully you'll find something inspirational to occupy yourself with over the coming weeks!

We are working hard to ensure that information on the Bristol Creatives website is relevant and up-to-date. However, this cannot be guaranteed due to the ever-changing nature of the current situation. Please check with venues and organisers before visiting by calling ahead or checking their website directly as some organisers will be switching their exhibitions and events to online.

Are you running online classes, courses, performances or exhibitions?
If you are running any online/virtual activities - we encourage you to list them in the What's On/Event section of the website so that we can help you promote them.  If they are taking place online please mark them as 'Virtual or Online' clearly in the event title.  Get in touch if you need a hand -

The Energy Cog - By becoming creative we heal ourselves; by healing ourselves we discover our creativity. Here at the Energy Cog we use a powerful combination of mind-body tools and Art Journaling to open the way for real and exciting life-transformation. While Art Journaling is an enjoyable and creative way to explore our feelings and unveil our blocks, the mind-body tools give us practical methods to move beyond these blocks and embrace our dreams. This potent combination of modalities can literally rewire our neurological and physiological patterning for greater health and happiness.

Limbic Cinema is an award-winning multimedia design studio that specialises in projection mapping and immersive video environments. Creative use of technology is integral to our particular approach to storytelling, it allows us to transform spaces and transport audiences in new and exciting ways. From architectural projection mapping on urban facades, to light sculptures in public gardens, our work takes a rich variety of forms according to the individual aims of the project.

Lukasz Iskierka is a Bristol-based children's illustrator, originally from Poland. His style is characterised by rich detail, strong storytelling, focus on compelling world-building, and well pronounced textures inspired by traditional dry media, like chalks and pencils. He's been working on children's book projects: "The Sorcerer's Dog" and "A Boat Full of Friends". He has recently collaborated with the University of Bristol on their annual publication of LeDeR Programme report.

Also a big thank you to the following members who recently renewed their annual Gold Membership:

Spike Island is a dynamic arts centre that provide affordable studio space, supports, produces and presents contemporary art and culture. A short walk from Bristol attractions SS Great Britain and the M Shed, Spike Island is free to visit. Every year, we programme up to six exhibitions in our museum-scale gallery spaces, including major new commissions and rarely seen existing work by a diverse range of contemporary artists at key stages in their careers. We also host events throughout the year, including talks, screenings and workshops, which provide opportunities to learn more about the art on display, discover a new writer or thinker, and develop new skills.

Thinking Green Creative - I'm an ethical, human centered designer and I start by asking what you need. From websites through to community art projects, everything I do is geared up to showing you off and working to your strengths. There are no packages, everyone is very different. I don't oversell and I'll probably suggest you start small to save your money and your time. Using years of experience running my own businesses and helping others to grow, I share my expertise and teach my clients what they need to know, when they need or want to know it. That means you can learn to run your own website, or design your own social media campaign or run your own interactive arts trail. I'm all for skill sharing and fostering independence.
