Latest News & CV-19 Resources, Advice, Opportunities & Online Activities: May 2020

Welcome to the May 2020 edition of the Bristol Creatives' e-bulletin - the second CV-19 Lockdown e-bulletin! I hope you are all keeping safe and well, and that you are managing to find ways to be creative during this challenging time.  I have stripped out all our What's On event listings as all face-to-face workshops, classes and courses have been postponed or cancelled.  However, we have the latest news, advice, guidance and details of grants and funding opportunities.  As well as a few great creative opportunities and some online activities and events that you can take part in whilst you're stuck at home - read on to find out more!

Are you running online classes, courses, performances or exhibitions?
If you are running any online activities during the CV-19 lockdown period - we encourage you to list them in the What's On/Event section of the website so that we can help you promote them!  Please mark them as 'Virtual' clearly in the event title.  Get in touch if you need a hand - sally@bristolcreatives.co.uk.

A big thank you to the following members who recently renewed their annual Gold Membership:

Eleanor Collins - Illustrator: I paint eye-catching illustrations for articles and childrens books.  I am currently open to commissions for childrens illustrations and images for articles, although I will try my hand at almost anything! So if you have an idea please feel free to run it past me.

Spike Island - Spike Island offers some of the most professional and affordable artists’ studios in the country. It is currently home to over 70 artists at all stages of their careers, working across all media. These studios are subsidised, making them accessible to artists who would otherwise find it difficult to afford working space.

Easton Road Studios - offering artist’s studios, desk space and occasional events - is located in Easton, Bristol. The building dates from the Victorian era and contains 11 individual studio spaces of a variety of sizes. The studios are located on Easton Road, just a few minutes walk from Lawrence Hill train station. Units and desk space can be rented by individuals or groups. Different sizes of units are available. Desk space from £80 per month.

Lisa Cole - Collabroative Designer - I am a human centered designer/maker, collaborative artist and teacher. I welcome collaborations from all avenues and have worked with poets, textile artists, comedians, members of the community, academics and researchers. My personal research centres around experimental ceramics and philosophy.  I teach Design Thinking as a strategy to solve environmental issues. My workshops are suitable for corporate team building and community learners alike. They are delivered online or in person.
