Bristol Light Festival 2021: Expressions of Interest Sought Now!

The first-ever Bristol Light Festival illuminated the city centre from Thursday 27 February to Sunday 1 March 2020 and saw 100,000 people interact with and enjoy city centre spaces.

We know It’s been a challenging few months for lots of people since our first festival was staged in February this year, so we wanted to do something nice to say thanks to the people of Bristol for looking after each other during this difficult time.

So together with @BrisCentreBID we've gifted our Giant Cheers Drive Sign (which you might have seen originally installed by @wshed during the festival) to the Bristol Bus Station. We hope that it brings a smile to all!

We are busy planning for next year's festival, and we have have an open call for Expressions of Interest for artists and makers from any discipline, and any point in their career who have existing works they’d like to showcase, or new ideas of playful ways to light up Bristol.

We’d love to hear from designers, makers, architects, light artists, students and institutions, This application round will be open for one month, until 16th September 2020, and the team will be in touch with shortlisted submissions by 5th October 2020.
