The Whitegold Project: Public Space Commissions

The Whitegold Project wishes to commission three artists, makers or designers (or groups) to create art in public spaces for St Austell that inspires, challenges and reflect on this unique place. Off the main tourist trail, St Austell in Cornwall is an industrial town moulded from the china clay beneath its feet which is now looking to creatively reshape its future. The project has the people of St Austell at its heart and is a St Austell Community Interest Company project in partnership with local business, local authorities and cultural organisations.

Tremen – a small covered passageway called Grants Walk: £20,000

Ope – Chandos Place, an alley in the heart of the town: £30,000

Treudhow – a focal point on the western end of Fore St: £15,000

Closing date for expressions of interest: 21 November 2019.
