Rockaway Park: Somerset Arts Weeks Artist Call Out!

We are excited to tell you that we are included in the Somerset Arts Week again this year and that we will have a number of spaces available at Rockaway Park for you to display your work during the week or for running workshops.  As you may be aware Rockaway Park is located in a disused quarry and has a wonderful, sprawling collection of work throughout the site.

We will be open for a total of 10 days along with a preview event on Friday 20 September. All spaces are different and varied. All residents/workers at Rockaway will have priority on booking spaces for the event.

We are putting a lot of time, money and effort into making the event a success, so if you would like to book a space, we would love contributions towards running the event. Last year artists gave 20% of their sales to Rockaway Park as their contribution. In return, if you are booked in, we are happy to put a short description about your work and a photo on our Facebook page and our website. And on top of this, the Somerset Arts Week booklet, which features Rockaway Park, goes out to thousands of people across the whole county and beyond.

If you are interested in booking a space to display your work or for a workshop, please download a small form which we ask you to fill in and return to getinvolved@rockawaypark.co.uk by July 5th. Priority of spaces goes to residents and workers on site, so the sooner you send the form back to us then the more likely we will be able to reserve a space for you. Please send in a photo/photos of your work and tell us a little bit about yourself and your art/installation etc. on the form.

Please bear in mind that you will be responsible for your own space throughout the event. Rockaway cannot take any responsibility for any damage or loss to work displayed on site, so it would be advisable to have your own insurance for the event.

Thank you and we look forward to working with you!

Found on Cloud Hill, in Temple Cloud, Rockaway Park is home to an ever expanding community of diverse and interdependent talents. At the core of our disused quarry is a belief that collaboration and collectivism, sharing work, vision and ideas are how all great creations take hold and manifest. We are open to all and welcome visitors and new friends - have a look around the site and then come by to look around the yard.
