At a moment of huge change and opportunity across the screen industries, we are seeking someone with creative vision and ambition to join our team in a newly created ‘Head of Programme’ role. 

The Head of Programme will lead on the curation and preparation of all audience facing activity playing a key part in communicating Encounters’ vision and ambition whilst supporting new and emerging talent reach new audiences.

Who we are looking for?

The Head of Programme will form a key part of a small team of staff who welcome and celebrate individuality creating a rewarding environment for personal and professional development. 

They will lead on the curation and preparation of all audience facing activity confidently communicating their vision for moving image exhibition and discovery of new and emerging talent.  By embracing innovation, they will demonstrate their openness to new ideas and imaginations that are prevalent within the short form.

Job Opportunity - Head of Programme

Location: Bristol, UK
Reporting to: CEO – Rich Warren
Responsible for: Curatorial team & Seasonal Freelance support staff
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience
Hours Worked:  37.5 (Includes flexible working, some evenings, and weekends)
Contract Length: 4-year, fixed term contract
Start date: Preferred start date 14th June 2021

The Ambition - What you need to bring to the table

·       A keen awareness of the British and international film scene and the wider arts sector

·       A passion for delivering events of the highest quality

·       Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in curation of the arts or as a practitioner.

·       Ability to develop and maintain good collegiate working relationships with colleagues, contacts, partners, and stakeholders

·       Proven ability to work well under pressure and prioritise intensely varying workloads

·       Ability to represent Encounters professionally and with confidence locally, nationally, and internationally

Timeline

The deadline for applications is 17:00(GMT), 19th April 2021. 

All applicants will be contacted on the status of their application by 29th April 2021.

Applicants who meet the basic criteria will be invited to a preliminary interview via Zoom during the week of 3rd May 2021.  This will give us an opportunity to meet a wide field of applicants and give you an opportunity to share your visions for the role and ask any specific questions.

A shortlist will then be invited for a second interview via Zoom during the week commencing 10th May 2021.
