Window Wanderland: Freelance Project Coordinator/Community Outreach (Part-Time)

Window Wanderland (WW) inspires and supports communities to set up local window-display-based walking trails, transforming everyday streets into magical outdoor galleries, and shares them online for anyone to see and enjoy.

WW ​connects people with their neighbours and creates stronger communities where the most vulnerable feel safe. ​Our mission is to spread happiness and combat social isolation.

Since its inception in 2015, over 120 events WW events have taken place here in the UK and overseas in Canada, France and Australia. WW provides resources for these events, as well managing one-off projects, such as an online skills workshop planned for January 2021.

The role

Window Wanderland Community Interest Company is seeking a part-time Project Coordinator and Community Outreach lead, to support the further development of the initiative.

WW is a small dedicated team that helps community organisers across the UK and beyond, to set up and run annual art projects in their area. The successful person will support the Creative Director in the overall administration and fundraising/sponsorship of WW, and take an active role in the organisation’s next phase of development.

We are seeking someone with a hands-on approach and passion to engage communities in artistic endeavours, with excellent organisational, communication, fundraising and project management skills, able to work independently (from home).


Salary: Fixed fee, £7590, on the expectation of 12 hours a week- including travel expenses (£28,000 pro rata)

Hours: Hours can be flexible to take account of personal circumstances.

Dates: Fixed term contract September ‘20 – August 21, with an extension possible.

Location: ​The WW team is based in Bristol. This role will involve homeworking with weekly online catchups. Location is flexible, but travel to meetings and events may be required from time to time, conducted in line with Covid-19 Government guidance.
