South Bristol Arts: Seeks an Arts Administrator

Are you passionate about the arts in South Bristol?  Do you have the creative, administrative and organisational skills necessary to make this event happen?  If so, we want to hear from you!

Project Description

The South Bristol Arts Trail has taken place annually since 2002, usually on the middle weekend of May.  Houses, businesses and public venues all open their doors to show work by artists and host performances and workshops.  It has become a date in South Bristol’s calendar- a chance for artists to show and sell their work and for visitors to enjoy a great day out whilst supporting artists, performers and local businesses.

The existing management committee is seeking an enthusiastic individual to project manage the trail on a freelance basis for 2020, the planning and organisation of which would take place between November 2019 and May 2020.

Previously the trail has been funded through membership subscription from registered artists and through sponsorship. We would expect that the appointed contractor would bring expertise and fresh thinking to the event in order for the South Bristol Arts Trail to move forward in a sustainable and exciting way, ideally leading on the development of an income generation and / or fundraising strategy.

Key tasks would be:

recruiting and liaising with artists

recruiting and liaising with venues

managing trail publicity including design and management of the website and
brochure design and print

seeking opportunities for press coverage, writing new releases and distributing to local publications/radio/tv.

To express your interest in this freelance position, please send a proposal, no longer than 1 side of A4, setting out what you could bring to the role, ideas for increasing the Art Trail’s financial sustainability, as well as your proposed project management fee to: info@bs3community.org.uk.  Deadline 12 July 2019.

Expiry date:
Fri, 12/07/2019
