DIY Arts Network: Freelance Support Meeting (online)

DIY Arts Network is holding an online meeting to discuss how we can support our freelance community.

About this Event

In response to this difficult time of transition and change, we are holding a space to discuss how we can support our freelance artistic community. This event will provide a space to network, share, and be part of a community.

There will also be an opportunity to feed into the One City Culture Board agenda. Shagufta Iqbal and Sisi Miller, will host a conversation on the citywide arts agenda, and will ensure that the priorities of the freelance community are included in this work.

The meet up will be an informal and reflective space, and we are providing 10 bursaries of £50 to support artists to attend. These will be awarded on a first come first served basis, no questions asked. Please email to request a bursary.


10.45am-11am Welcome and Introductions (Facilitated by Elise Hurcombe and Eloise Tong)

11am-11.05am Mega Mute – Elise and Eloise provide an overview of how the day will run. Handover to Viki (Many Minds) who will hold a wellbeing/check-in session. Viki introduces the breakout rooms.

11.05am-11.20am Breakout Rooms. Viki holds the main space, welcoming anyone late and doing a check in/discussion with people there.

11.20am-11.55am What are the priorities for you? Feedback/areas of focus for One City Culture Board. Led by Shagufta Iqbal and Sisi Miller.

11.55am-12pm BREAK

12pm-12.20pm What can the DIY Arts Network do to support me during this time?

12.20pm-12.30pm Check out – participants to share their reflections. Led by Viki.

12.30pm Session Ends

Due to COVID-19, this meeting will take place online. You will be emailed a Zoom link and further information after signing up.

Access: This will be a relaxed meeting designed to a comfortable pace that will enable everyone to participate. Everyone is welcome to join in in the way that suits them.

Please feel free to turn your video off. There will be a mixture of presentations, Q&A and break-out room discussions.
