Arnos Vale: Window Wanderland

Fri, 23/02/2018 - Sun, 25/02/2018

Arnos Vale Window Wanderland takes place on 23rd - 25th February 2018 and has  attracted over 60 participants. The community initiative is being led by local residents Laura Humpage,  Penny Morgan and Lucy Ball of Edward Road and Chatsworth Road. They are encouraging all the residents to open their curtains and create window displays to amuse, entertain and enthrall each other for a weekend of fun. Together these windows will form a wonderful winter walking trail, which everyone can participate in by coming out to enjoy.

Laura Humpage of Colourful Minds is hosting the Wanderland to raise spirits in the darkest part of the winter, says,

“We’ve already had 62 people sign up to create a display. St Annes Infants School, Arnos Vale and St Christophers Church  are getting involved alongside local residents – it’s great to see the buzz is building already. We have set up a Crowdfunding Campaign to raise funds to make a map, which are available from  Bocabar, Crest Nicholson office, Kates Kitchen at Arnos Vale Cemetery, Sandy Park Deli, Grounded Sandy Park, Wick Road Library and Craftisan. I’m thrilled that Arnos Vale and surrounding areas are getting on board with this fab event.” So save the date and tell your friends to come along. It’s not too late to sign up to get involved!

This initiative was created by Lucy Reeves in 2015 and it was a great success and has  inspired other communities to organise their own winter walking trails which Lucy is so happy about.

To sign up go to our page on the website under ‘Coming Events’  https://windowwanderland.com/event/arnos-vale-18  where you can see the map and look at the galleries or a short film for display ideas. Find us on Facebook or twitter @windowwander.
