Old Market Manor provides membership for an affordable solution for those who require workshop or studio space. It gives designer makers access to temporary and permanent bench spaces. It also accommodates people looking for longer term space for them to incubate their business in an inspiring creative venue.
The facility offers a joinery and furniture making workshop, with all the machines and equipment found in commercial business, as well as metal fabrication. We also house a jewellery studio; this is a shared studio space that has shared equipment.
THE JEWELLERY STUDIOS
The jewellery studio houses 4 jewellers on a membership basis. They each have a dedicated bench space and shelves for them to use. There is shared access to tools and machinery as well as work benches. Option of using storage and display space is also available.
The jewellery members also have their own set of keys to the studio and building.
There is larger equipment in the studio for the jewellers to use, including: a rolling mill, a heavy vice, a hearth area with torches, a pickle pot, a mini barrel polisher, a pendant motor and hand tools including a mitre jig and a disc cutter. There is also a safe to keep precious metals and stones.
