Make and Do

Make and Do is all about sharing my love of sewing and of making beautiful things whilst enabling others to experience the same sense of satisfaction that I get every time I finish making something.

I run a a variety of workshops from by base at The Make and Do Emporium in Tenderfoot (100 Wick road, Brislington) including a weekly Friday night craft club for grown ups. I also make a variety of sewn goodies such as cushions, bunting and memo boards for those who want some handmade loveliness but don’t have time to make it. At the Make and Do Emporium I stock all sorts of gorgeous fabrics, ribbons, buttons and a range of kits that I have designed myself.

A little bit about me… I have a degree in Fine Art in Context from the University of the West of England and a PGCE from Bath Spa University, after which I worked as a special needs and art teacher. As an artist I have shown my work locally and nationally including Gasworks (London), The Saltburn Gallery (Teesside) and Centrespace (Bristol). I am actively involved in creativity within Bristol, having set up a community arts space and being chair of Southbank Bristol Arts who organise an annual arts trail. Finally, and most importantly, I am a Mum to two gorgeous boys. My eldest is three and my youngest is 18 months.
