I am a theatrical milliner and costume maker with over 15 years experience, having trained at Wimbledon School of Art. I own and run www.MillinersGuild.co.uk in Broadmead, Bristol. We stock high quality UK produced millinery and accessories as well as workshops and training.
I specialise in period and unusual millinery and wire-work. I as well as running the shop and producing stock, I work freelance for theatre and film productions, having worked on projects such as Poldark (BBC), Lion King (Disney), Calamity Jane (UK Tour) and The Little Mermaid (Bristol Old Vic Theatre). I also have experience as a costume supervisor, and have worked in this capacity for Welsh National Youth Opera.
I was resident milliner at Welsh National Opera for eight years, creating hats and head-dresses for new productions and re-creating items for revivals. My experience during this time has covered such diverse projects as Seven Deadly Sins, Merry Widow and Otello.
I have taught millinery, pattern cutting and wirework at undergraduate level at Coleg Morgannwg’s Costume Construction for Stage & Screen Foundation Degree, Wimbledon School of Art and The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School . I run millinery workshops from Milliners’ Guild in various aspects of millinery. More details on the website
I am a co-founder and the current Chair of the Bristol Art Fringe. BAF organised the Montpelier Art Trail, to great success, and multiple other art shows and exhibitions throughout the year.
