Reminder: Forthcoming Bristol Creatives' Events

Hello

I'd like to remind you about two Bristol Creatives events that are happening soon, first off is our 'Creative Thursdays' Networking Event' which takes place this Thursday 27 January at the RWA, see below for details and then we're also working in collaboration with Artsmatrix on the forthcoming 'Take Me To Market Event' which is taking place at the Folk House on 9 February 2011 - please note that Bristol Creatives Gold Members can save £20 on the cost of attending this event, again see below for more details.

Creative Thursdays' Networking Event

The first Bristol Creatives' 'Creative Thursdays' Networking Event of 2011 will take place at the RWA (Royal West of England Academy) this Thursday 27 January from 12noon-2.30pm.  We will be given free access to the Jamaica Street Artists' Inside-Out Exhibition, which normally costs £4, together with a guided tour by JSA artist Andrew Hood (see below for more information about this exhibition).

There will also be time to meet and network with other creative people in an informal friendly atmosphere. These events are free to Bristol Creatives Gold Members or £5 to Non-members (free for the first meeting, pay on arrival at subsequent events).  Places are limited at this event and priority will be given to Gold Members, please email sally@bristolcreatives.co.uk for more information including directions and to book your place at this event. You will also be able to join Bristol Creatives Gold Membership Scheme at this event, please bring along your cheque book or £30 in cash. Visit www.bristolcreatives.co.uk/user/register for more information and to pay online now.

Jamaica Street Artists' Inside-Out Exhibition

Fresh from the success of their entrepreneurial venture The Art Box, Jamaica Street Artists will be starting the New Year with a bang presenting Inside-Out at the Royal West of England Academy.

As an insight into Bristol’s explosive studio movement the show highlights JSA’s prominent position in the city’s art scene. Encompassing the vibrancy and diversity of the studio, the exhibition showcases a number of emerging and established artists, and ex-studio members who have gone on to achieve international success.

The exhibition takes the studio from its working environment outside and into the public eye, feeding the public’s intrigue and fascination with the studio’s secret world of creativity, brought to life by an enlightening narrative of Jamaica Street Artists impressive history, from its disparate beginnings to the gradual formation of its current coherent identity.

Jamaica Street Artists exhibiting alongside the master of Matisse creates a dynamic contrast of the established and emerging, mirroring the movement and change blowing through the RWA as it launches into the New Year with a new and exciting programme.

Artsmatrix Event: Take Me To Market - 9 February 2011

Also don't forget that Bristol Creatives Gold Members can book a place on the forthcoming Artsmatrix 'Take Me To Market' Event for the substantially discounted price of £45 instead on £65.

Do you want to find out the best place to promote or sell your work? Do you need to know how gallery managers and owners actually decide what work they want to show or sell? This event will give you the opportunity to perfect your pitch and hear from gallery owners about what they are really looking for!
