the Arts house is a brand new, exciting addition to the vibrant community of Stokes Croft. It is gallery, cafe, bar, cinema and live music venue - showcasing the best in the arts in a homely atmosphere whilst serving delicious food and drinks.
the Arts house is set in a unique venue - a beautiful curved glass fronted Victorian building right in the heart of Stokes Croft, right next door to the Here Gallery. As it's name suggests it is a house of arts which encompasses and embraces all flavours of the arts from painters to potters, woodworkers to upholsterers, from singer songwriters to Djs, poets to puppeteers, photographers to cake makers.
All the art used and displayed are for sale. The visual art represents local unknown rising talent, as well as rising national and international artists. The food, craft and music is all local to Bristol. Pop along now to see an exhibition bought to Bristol by Oxfam exhibition entitled 'Under Water Colours' featuring new work by Jamie Hewlett which on display until 11 February 2010.
Gallery: The basement gallery can be hired by the week for solo group or themed exhibitions.
Cinema:the Arts house has a license from Filmbank allowing them to showcase a whole host of fabulous cinema screenings. Customers will also have a chance to select the films that are shown. They are keen to here from film clubs who would like to meet regularly at the space.
Cafe/Bar:The cafe serves an extensive range of teas, fair trade coffees, fruit smoothies and milkshakes. Together with a great slection of homemade paninis, pastries, cakes, salads and soups for everybody's taste. Whilst the bar serves wine, a great selection of bottled beer and cider and a spirits and cocktails, as well as a range of tapas and snacks.
Parties/Events: the Arts house is the perfect setting for a great party too.
