Having tried various media over the years my work has developed from the traditional use of watercolours to large oil canvases. Depicting a range of subjects from the outside and the inside world, observed at home and abroad, my interest is now as much with the 'how' a subject can be treated, letting the paint itself have more prominence.

My aim is to secure the perfect balance of colour and line. The starting point is inevitably something I have seen, often a detail in a landscape, or the play of light on a scene. I am driven by the idea that one day I will be able to totally capture the beauty that you can see in a sunset or a landscape, each canvas is another opportunity.
