Bristol Creatives is running a competition to find an image that represents the wide diversity of creativity in Bristol. The winning image will be used on a flyer and poster as part of the public launch of the Bristol Creatives new online Creative Directory and Event Calendar.

The Prize:

There is a prize of £250 for the winning entry, as well as an exhibition of the best entries at the Bocabar at Paintworks in April 2007 and an online exhibition of the best entries on the Bristol Creatives website.

Out of Hand are sponsoring the competition and will print 5,000 A6 flyers and 50 A4 posters of the winning design, which will be distributed around Bristol to promote Bristol Creatives new online Creative Directory and Event Calendar. They will also print an A2 poster of the winning design that will be presented to the winner at the opening night of the exhibition at the Bocabar.

There will also be a feature about the competition in the April edition of Out of Hand magazine, with the possibility of the winning entry appearing on the front cover.

The Brief:

Create an image that represents the wide diversity of creativity in Bristol, this could be an illustration, painting, piece of graffiti, photograph, etc. The artwork needs to be submitted in an A4 portrait format for the purposes of the exhibition and for a run of A4 posters, bare in mind that the image must also work as an A6 flyer.

The Deadline:

12noon on Friday 23 March 2007

The Rules:

You must be registered as a member on the Bristol Creatives website and have listed yourself in the Creative Directory before you can enter. You can do this for free by logging in at Bristol Creatives and then selecting 'create content' under your name of the right hand side of the screen, then select 'member directory listing' and list your details and upload your photos or images.

Please deliver your A4 portrait artwork to Bristol East Side Traders, Brunswick Court, Brunswick Square, Bristol, BS2 8PE by 12noon on Friday 23 March 2007 at the latest. You must ensure that your name and telephone number are clearly marked on the back of your artwork.

The winning design will be chosen by Bristol Creatives and Out of Hand on Monday 26 March. The winner will be notified on Tuesday 27 March, as will all the entries that have been selected to be part of the exhibition at the Bocabar. Please note that you will be able to collect your artwork from Bristol East Side Traders from Wednesday 28 March if your design hasn't been selected for the Bocabar exhibition. If your artwork is selected you will be able to collect it after the exhibition (if it hasn’t been sold).
