Postcards For The Planet at the ‘Less IS More’ Autumn Art Exhibition

Please help us to raise funds for Bristol Friends of the Earth by creating your very own ‘Postcard for the Planet’. From 29 September to 12 October 2008, Bristol Friends of the Earth (BFoE), the Green Arts Network and Climate Action Bedminster are holding an Autumn Art Exhibition at the Tobacco Factory, Southville, entitled ‘Less IS More’. We are searching for artists who would like to take this opportunity to showcase their work and support ‘green’ action in the Bristol area, by contributing hand-made postcards for this exciting event.

Our Postcards for the Planet will be sold at the exhibition launch on Tuesday 30 September, and funds raised will be used by BFoE for local campaigns such as ‘Stop Bristol Airport Expansion’ and the push for a Transport Authority for Greater Bristol. (You can find out more about current Bristol Friends of the Earth campaigns at www.bristolfoe.org.uk).

The postcards will be displayed anonymously, each for sale individually at a fixed price. The price will remain the same no matter who contributed them, whether established artist or small child. Once purchased, the buyer will then be able to discover the details of the artist on the reverse.

If you are willing to contribute a postcard, thanks very much! Please follow the following instructions:

1. Feel free to draw, paint or create a postcard on any kind of theme or design. Equally, if you would prefer to respond to the idea of ‘Postcards for the Planet’, that’s great.

2. You can either use the postcard provided in this pack or another piece of card of the same size. Please do not use a bigger postcard as we will be unable to display it (maximum 6 x 4 inches or A6).

3. There is no limit to the number of cards you contribute.

4. ON THE BACK:

• Print your name
• Sign the card
• Give your occupation and contact details if you wish. Please don’t put a signature on the front, as the anonymity is part of the fun!

5. Please post your completed postcard(s)to:

Jane Stevenson, Bristol Friends of the Earth, 20 Beauley Road, Southville, Bristol, BS3 1PY

6. For blank postcards, please email Jane: info@bristolfoe.org.uk
Deadline: Please ensure your work reaches Jane by 19 September 2008.

If you have any queries or would like postcard packs please contact:
