Artspace Lifespace

Artspace Lifespace, has now secured the old city centre fire/police station formerly known to most as Bridewell, now renamed 'The Island'. When finished 'The Island' will house the following amenities:

- Affordable studio space for up to 60 creative bods, ranging from silversmiths to puppet makers, sculptors to jewellery designers;

- A high profile city centre venue for performing arts and physical theatre and rehearsal space for theatre groups and circus companies;

- A gallery/exhibition space and café.

Centre Space

Centre Space studios are set in the heart of Bristol, close to the Watershed Media Centre, The Arnolfini Gallery and the new City Centre. There is also a gallery which can be rented out for exhibitions and events.

In Bristol Studios

In Bristol Studios are based in an 1830’s Cotton Mill just off Feeder Road in Barton Hill. They offer fully equipped work space for woodwork, ceramics, print and textiles with a variety of sized units to rent from 60-100 sq-ft. Prices start from £27 per week all inclusive.

They also offer a Pay As You Go service where non members can use the facilities for a daily or weekly rate.

There are opportunities to run workshops and classes from our exhibition space and we will be holding open studios twice annually with collective shows planned through out the year.

Jamaica Street Studios

Jamaica Street Studios offers single rooms and open plan studio spaces with great views accross Bristol. Please email them on info@jamaicastreetartists.co.ukif you are interested in in renting a space.

Mivart Artists Studios

Mivart Street Studios occupy a former Victorian factory squeezed into a residential street off St. Mark’s Road in Easton. The large, red brick building has housed various industries over the last hundred years including aircraft construction and clothing manufacture. Today it is home to an eclectic mix of artists, performers, designers, furniture makers, and small businesses.

There is currently no space at Mivart Street Studios.

Spike Island

Spike Island has established itself as a significant international centre combining working and exhibition space for the contemporary visual arts. Located at the edge of Bristol’s Harbourside, Spike Island offers seventy affordable long let studios; project space for the making and showing of ambitious new work; and a number of spaces for commercial cultural industries.
