Contemporary Visual Arts Network: GDPR and how it affects you!

The Contemporary Visual Arts Network (CVAN) have published a short briefing paper for the new GDPR rules. In just under eight weeks, on 25 May the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force, a law that gives everyone more control over their data and how it is used.

Even if you are a sole trader or micro business, if you collect, use or store personal data, GDPR applies to you - this can included simply storing email addresses and sending out newsletters or emails. With current highly publicised data breaches, now is the time to analyse what data you currently hold, whether you have consent to hold that data, determine what you are doing to ensure its security, how long you will hold that information and even determine whether it is still needed.

Read this short briefing paper now to ensure you aren't breaching the new rules!
