Speaker: John Phibbs Principle of Debois Landscape Survey Group, working in the field of historic landscape.

Little Sparta, or Stonypath, is a tiny croft in the Pentland Hills where Ian and Sue Hamilton Finlay have made one of the most influential British gardens of the second half of the twentieth century. (http://www.littlesparta.co.uk/)

This is essentially a garden of ‘poems’, which is unique because of Ian Finlay's exhaustive and lifelong exploration of ways in which artworks, gardens and nature can be brought together.
