Creative Glass Guild Courses - Introduction to Photographing your Glass

Thu, 07/04/2011

Learn to take professional and stylish photographs of your glass work using your own digital camera. Using a basic photography lighting set up and a paper sweep background, you will learn techniques to show off your work at it's best. During the morning, Jonathan will talk you through basic photographic techniques and a list of equipment needed to get you started after the course. He will walk you through the free Windows Live Photo Gallery programme suggesting a workflow, whilst giving ideas to raise your photography to the next level. The afternoon will be a practical session photographing your work to it's best potential based on the information and skills learned in the morning session. Use of lighting and background paper are included, as are light refreshments.  This course has a maximum of eight students to ensure individual attention.

You need to bring your own digital camera and we recomend you bring your own laptop. We have limited laptops available to borrow so please enquire when booking.

Don't forget to bring your glass to photograph! This course covers photographing moderate sized fused glass, stained glass panels and cast glass work (to sit comfortably on a table top). It is not suitable for very large or very small pieces and is not suitable for jewellery work.

Refreshments and use of backing sweep and lights included. Advance booking essential. £89 per person.  Thursday 7th April 10am - 4.30pm.
